Rounding the curve

Turning the big 50....

I can remember going to my fathers 50th birthday like it was yesterday.  So much has happened since that time yet it seems just a short while ago.  Now it's my turn.  Time to figure out what happens in the second half of my life. (yes, I look forward to seeing 100 even though my actions may contradict that at times).  If I have learned anything to this point it is that life is an adventure.  Don't ever be afraid to enjoy where you are and dream of where you want to be.  Eat the cake but go for the run.  Work hard but don't forget to make time for the family.  Sow the fields in order to reap the harvest.  Never do anything halfway. (Ask my kids and they will be able to give you my best example)  Simple, cliche thoughts but important nonetheless.  I may have had to rebuild at a few points but I have never given up on taking the adventures when they come and endeavoring to build a better future.  My heart smiles knowing the best is yet to come and that's saying a lot when I look back at all the great memories so far.  But that's it, isn't it...Live for today to build memories for tomorrow.  Plan the vacation, take the scenic route, eat you lunch by the river, act like a tourist and make sure to drag along the ones you love.

Until next time......
